The Association of Hungarian Literary Memorial Houses (MIRE) was founded in 2008 on the initiative of the Petőfi Literary Museum to support the preservation, modern operation and development of literary memorial houses.

The association also provides professional support for the establishment of new memorial houses, the organisation of new exhibitions and related scientific research.

Our aim is to build a network of literary memorial houses, actively participate in shaping local and regional social events, and work closely with schools to ensure that each memorial house is a living cultural synthesis of its community.
